Edit an article
Overview
You can update an article at any time. Each card on the article record has its own Edit action, so you change only what you need.
Before you start
- Open the article (Master Data > Articles, then select its reference number). When the EUDR module is selected, the article opens on its EUDR tab; switch to General for the core data.
- If you plan to change the CN code, be ready to re-check EUDR relevance afterwards, since the code drives scope.
Step by step
- Open the article by selecting its reference number in the Articles list.
- Choose the tab you need: General (reference number, CN code, description, units & weight) or EUDR (relevance).
- Select Edit on the relevant card, make your changes, and save.
⚠️ Changing the CN code can change the article's EUDR scope. If you move it to a code that is not in Annex I, the article becomes out of scope; if you move it into Annex I, it becomes EUDR-relevant by default. Re-check the EUDR tab after changing a CN code.
What you can edit where

The net weight per piece and its unit are edited as a pair: enter both, or clear both to leave the weight unset. Switching the unit converts the value (25 kg becomes 0.025 t) instead of reinterpreting it, and clearing the pair removes the weight rather than storing 0.
Tips
- After correcting a CN code, open the EUDR tab and confirm the resulting status before moving on.
- Keep the net weight per piece current for articles you order in pieces; it is what kolum uses to convert purchase order quantities into kilograms for Due Diligence Statements.
Troubleshooting
- The EUDR tag changed after I edited the CN code. That is expected. Relevance follows the CN code.
- The Units & weight card will not save. Both halves are needed: enter a unit for the weight you typed, or clear both fields.
ℹ️ Regulatory context. Because EUDR scope is defined by the Annex I CN codes, changing an article's CN code can move it in or out of scope. See the consolidated EUDR text.
