Quick Start: Trader
As a trader using kolum, you can manage emissions data for the goods you sell to your EU customers without exposing your supplier network. kolum helps you gather, calculate, and share emissions data easily while maintaining confidentiality and control over your supply chain. This guide walks you through setting up your kolum account, managing suppliers, and providing emissions data to EU customers.
Step 1: Getting Started, Accept Your Invitation and Log In
Your EU customer sends an invitation to join kolum. Check your email for it. Click the link to create your account and set a password. Once logged in you will see your Buyers section listing your EU customers, giving you immediate visibility into which customers need emissions data for which articles. The footer of the sidebar always shows who you are signed in as, with your role and your company, and offers a Product Updates link that opens the latest product news from the documentation in your app language.
Step 2: Invite Your Team
Invite colleagues to help manage suppliers, articles and emissions data. Navigate to My Organization, then Users, invite users by email and assign roles. Invited users receive an email to set up access.
Step 3: Manage Your Suppliers Confidentially
Your supplier network stays confidential, EU customers cannot see your suppliers. Add and manage suppliers in the Suppliers section, invite them to provide emissions data directly, and add production facilities if needed. The kolum Account Status column shows whether each supplier has accepted your invitation, and you can send a reminder to suppliers whose invitation is still pending.
Step 4: View Your Buyers and Linked Articles
In Buyers, click a customer name to see the articles requiring emissions data. For each article you see product details, CN code, and an option to Provide Emission Data.
Step 5: How to Provide Emissions Data
Option 1: enter direct and indirect emissions values directly if you already have them. Option 2: request emissions data from your suppliers within kolum, select the linked supplier, send a data request, and their entry auto-syncs to your article for review and submission.
