Manage Companies
Overview
A company in kolum is one of your own legal entities: the operators that import, trade, or place products on the EU market. Company records are shared master data, used across every customs module. The same company can be active for CBAM, for EUDR, or for both, shown by the badges in the Active Customs Modules column of the Companies list.
For EUDR, a company is the entity that carries the due diligence obligation and that files Due Diligence Statements with TRACES. Setting a company up correctly is the first step, before any article, order, or assessment can be worked on.
🟢 Why this matters. Under the EUDR, both the obligations and the deadlines that apply to you depend on your company's size class (micro, small, medium, or large), and every Due Diligence Statement is filed under your company's TRACES account. Both are configured on the company record, which is why accurate company data is the foundation of everything downstream. See the consolidated EUDR text for the size-based rules.
How a company record is organised
Each company opens on three tabs.

Before you start
- You need a role with permission to manage master data.
- Have the company's legal name, address, and (for EU operators) its EORI number ready.
