Bulk Upload Articles
Overview
When you need to create or update several articles at once, use the bulk upload instead of the Create Article form. You fill a spreadsheet template, upload it, and kolum creates one article per row, or updates the article whose Reference Number already exists. The upload works hand in hand with Export on the Articles page: export, adjust the file, and upload it again.
Before you start
- A role with permission to manage master data.
- The CN code for every article. Under EUDR, the CN code is what places each article in or out of scope.
- For articles you buy in pieces, the net weight of one piece excluding packaging, in kg or t, so purchase order quantities can be converted to kilograms.
Step by step
- Go to Master Data > Articles and select Upload file.
- Download the template and fill one article per row. Always start from a fresh download; a file built on an earlier template version is rejected with a message that names the new and changed columns.
- Upload the completed file and review the preview. It distinguishes rows that will create an article from rows that will update one, and shows errors per row and field.
- Confirm to import. The new and updated articles appear in the Articles list.

Each column is explained in full on the Article upload template glossary page. There is no Type, Company EORI or Supplier Identifier column: company and supplier connections are derived from your purchase orders and imports.

Tips
- Record the net weight per piece for every EUDR-relevant article you order in pieces; without it kolum cannot convert a piece count on a purchase order into the net mass a Due Diligence Statement requires.
- Export, edit, re-upload is the safest way to add net weights to an existing catalogue. The export carries Net Weight Per Piece and Measurement Unit, and articles without a weight export with both cells empty rather than 0, so an unchanged file re-imports without altering anything.
- Prepare your suppliers and companies separately; they are not part of this file.
Troubleshooting
- A row failed to import. The usual causes are a missing required field (Reference Number, Name, CN Code), a net weight without a unit or a unit without a weight, a unit other than kg or t, or
Yesin Is EUDR-Relevant for a CN Code outside EUDR scope. Any invalid row rejects the whole file; download the error report, correct the rows, and upload again. - An article imported but is out of scope unexpectedly. Check its CN code against Annex I; a wrong code is the common cause.
- The file was rejected as an old template. Download the current template from the upload dialog and move your data across; the rejection message names the columns that changed.
