Submit a Due Diligence Statement

Overview

When a risk assessment is complete and the risk is negligible or low, its statement becomes ready to submit. Submitting files it to TRACES and returns the reference that lets the goods be placed on the market. You can submit from the Due Diligence Statements list or from the assessment itself.

🟢 Why this matters. Filing the statement to the EU information system is the legal precondition for placing a relevant product on the market. See the consolidated EUDR text.

Before you start

  • The risk for the supplier and covered-article pair is negligible or low (see Step 2).
  • The company has its TRACES credentials set (see Set up EUDR for a company).

Step by step

  1. Go to Due Diligence Statements and open the Open to Submit filter.
  2. Find the statement, shown as Ready to submit.
  3. Select Submit to TRACES.

kolum files the statement to TRACES using the company's credentials and records the reference. The statement moves to Submitted to TRACES and links to the relevant purchase order(s). You can also submit at the end of a risk assessment (see Step 3 — Submit the Due Diligence Statement).

Tips

  • Confirm the covered volume before submitting; it sets the ceiling that later imports draw against.

Troubleshooting

  • Submit is unavailable. Either the risk is not yet low, or the company is missing TRACES credentials.
  • Submission failed. Check the company's TRACES username and API key on its EUDR tab.

ℹ️ Regulatory context. The statement is filed through TRACES, the EU information system, before the product is placed on the market. See the consolidated EUDR text.
