Add articles to a purchase order

Overview

Adding articles is what gives a purchase order its substance. For EUDR, it is the key step: each EUDR-relevant article you add, with its volume, becomes a supplier and article pair that must be risk-assessed.

🟢 Why this matters. This is the moment the EUDR workflow is triggered. The volume you enter also matters later, because a Due Diligence Statement covers a declared volume, and orders draw against it. See the consolidated EUDR text.

Before you start

• The purchase order exists (see Create a purchase order).
• The articles you want to add exist and, where relevant, are marked EUDR-relevant (see Set EUDR relevance for an article).

Step by step

1. Open the purchase order.
2. In the Articles Summary section, select Add More. The Add Articles to Order panel opens.
3. Under Articles, select the EUDR-regulated articles to include.
4. Enter the volume for each article.
5. Select Add Articles to Order.

Each added article appears in the Articles Summary with its volume and supplier, and carries an EUDR tag if it is in scope.

What happens next

For every EUDR-relevant article added, kolum creates a linked risk assessment for that supplier and article pair. You can see it in the order's Linked Risk Assessment section and in the Risk Assessment area. The order cannot be cleared for EU market placement until that assessment is complete and a Due Diligence Statement is in place.

Tips

• Enter the volume accurately. It feeds the volume tracking against the Due Diligence Statement.
• Add all the articles for one order in a single pass, so the risk assessments are created together.

Troubleshooting

• An article I need is not selectable. Only EUDR-regulated articles appear here for the EUDR workflow. Check the article's CN code and EUDR relevance.
• No risk assessment appeared. Confirm the article is actually EUDR-relevant; out-of-scope articles do not create one.
