Embedded Emissions

The Embedded Emissions card shows the embedded emissions of your CBAM-relevant imports in the selected period, by company and over time. It is the emissions figure behind your predicted certificates and costs, so it is the best place to see how far collected supplier data has moved your numbers.

What the card shows

• The total embedded emissions in tCO₂e by company over the selected period. Each company is one series in the chart; the legend below lists the companies shown.
• The total for the period at the top right (for example 11833.21 tCO₂e).
• A chart type selector to switch between a Bar Chart and a Line Chart.
• The time axis follows the selected period: a quarter is broken down by month.

Where the emissions come from

• With the Emission Data filter set to Default, every import is valued with the EU default values for its CN code and country of origin.
• With Actual & Default, the actual emission data your suppliers have provided in kolum is used wherever it exists, and EU default values fill the gaps.
• The card follows the whole filter bar, so the period, import types, CN codes, companies, countries of origin, suppliers and articles you select all narrow the figure.

Tips

• Compare the total in Default and Actual & Default: the difference is the effect of the supplier data you have collected so far.
• Read this card next to CBAM-relevant Import Volume. A company with a large share of the volume but a small share of the emissions is already well covered by actual data or imports low-emission goods.
• Use Top 10 Contributors with the Embedded Emissions metric to see which CN codes, suppliers or countries drive the total.
