Platform Overview
Welcome to kolum. This platform empowers your organization to manage emissions data, supplier interactions, and reporting workflows efficiently, ensuring your reporting processes are clear, organized, and consistent across your teams.
kolum acts as your operational backbone for emissions data management. It allows you to structure your supply chain emissions data systematically, link your articles with imports for seamless emissions allocation, and monitor carbon costs over time without manual, repetitive work. With kolum, your organization gains a unified system to stay compliant, reduce errors, and collaborate transparently within your teams and with your suppliers.
Navigation
The platform navigation was redesigned. A module selector at the top switches between CBAM and EUDR. The sidebar groups sections as Procurement, Transactions, Master Data, Admin, and My Data. Users and Log out now sit behind a settings (gear) icon. The section formerly called "CBAM Reports" is now "Reporting", and Emission Data sits above Reporting. The sidebar can be fully collapsed and expanded. CBAM Readiness has an Emission Data filter (default "Default"), and the time-frame filter includes the current year.
A pinned footer sits below the navigation items and stays visible however long the list of pages or however small the screen. It holds two things: a Product Updates link that opens the latest product updates from the documentation in a new tab, in the language you use in the app, and a compact block showing who you are signed in as. The block shows your name and, beneath it, your role and scope, for example Client Admin | ExampleGroup for account-wide roles or Company Admin | ExampleCompany for company roles. It reflects your own account, not the company the current page happens to show, and long names are shortened so the role always stays readable.

What you will find in kolum
Dashboard
The dashboard is your central control room, providing real-time insights into your organization's emissions data and supply chain activities. It shows:
- Total emissions for the reporting period and trends compared to the previous period.
- The predicted number of certificates required based on your emissions.
- Estimated carbon costs tied to your emissions data and certificate needs.
- The number of days left before your next reporting deadline.
- Recent imports with emissions per shipment for quick tracking and prioritization.
This page is designed for ongoing monitoring, helping your team plan data collection and reporting tasks effectively throughout your reporting cycle.
Companies and Production Facilities
You can add and manage your organization's company profile with EORI details and register your production facilities in kolum. Keeping this information accurate is essential as it connects to your imports and articles, ensuring emissions tracking is attributed correctly across your supply chain.
Users
kolum enables you to add your team members and assign them roles with appropriate permissions, ensuring secure access and clear responsibility alignment. You can manage user invitations, modify roles, and remove access if needed, giving your organization flexibility while maintaining control.
Suppliers
In kolum, you maintain a structured supplier list, where you can invite suppliers to provide emissions data, monitor their data submission progress, and manage supplier-related records. This ensures timely data collection aligned with your reporting requirements while reducing repetitive communications.
Articles
Articles are your produced or imported products in kolum, linked to CN codes and supplier identifiers. They do not appear in CBAM reporting; instead, they support analytics so you can understand how each article from different suppliers performs. When you create an import and connect its CN code and article, the article appears on its own subpage, where you can compare costs and other performance metrics across suppliers.
Imports
Imports represent the actual shipments your organization receives. Each import links a CN code, a supplier, and an article. When you create an import with a CN code and supplier, it appears on the supplier subpage in Purchased CBAM goods, where you can see whether emissions data has been provided or is still missing. You can add, review, edit, and monitor imports with details such as identifier, CN code, quantity with its measurement unit, supplier, country of origin, and shipment dates, and the imports table highlights which entries include emissions data and which require follow up.
Reports
Prepare, review, and generate your emissions reports within kolum, ensuring your organization's data is complete and accurate before submission. The reports module uses the structured data from your imports and articles to calculate emissions seamlessly, helping your team submit reports on time with confidence.
Inward Processing
If your organization uses inward processing, kolum allows you to manage customs procedure details, track authorization status, and ensure imports under inward processing are accurately reflected in your emissions records, maintaining traceability for your shipments.
Carbon Costs
kolum tracks your predicted carbon costs based on your emissions data and market trends, helping your organization forecast financial impacts and align procurement strategies with emissions reduction goals.
