Edit a Company

Overview

You can edit a company in kolum whenever you need to update details such as the name, identifier data, or address. Keeping company records accurate matters under PPWR, because roles and obligations attach to the legal entity as it really is, including the countries it operates in.

Step by step

1. Open the company. Click the company you want to edit in your Companies list to open its details page.
2. Click Edit in the top right corner to open the editable form.
3. Update the necessary fields:
   • Name
   • EORI Number (relevant for EU entities in customs modules; uniqueness is enforced when you save)
   • Business Partner Number (Catena-X BPN)
   • Address details (street name, number, PO Box, postal code, city, country)

4. Click Save company. The updated details appear in your company record and are used across your workspace.

After you edit

• The Company Identifier stays stable, so bulk uploads and lists keep matching the record.
• If the change affects the company's activities or countries, re-run the PPWR applicability check: a company that starts importing, starts selling own-brand goods, or expands into a new member state can gain roles and obligations.

Tips

• Review company records when your organisation restructures; mergers and renames are the usual reason records drift.
• Keep the country and address current. Registration and EPR run per member state, so the countries on record should reflect reality.
