Manage Companies & Production Facilities
Overview
Managing your companies and production facilities in kolum keeps your workspace organised and gives the PPWR module the entities it works with. Your companies represent the legal entities within your organisation; they are the level at which PPWR applies, because roles and obligations attach to a legal entity, not to a product line or a shipment. Your production facilities are the physical locations where your organisation's goods are produced and packed, giving operational context to your company records.
Keeping companies and facilities organised in kolum helps your team:
- Run the PPWR applicability check for the right entity, so each company's roles and obligations are evaluated correctly.
- Maintain clear, structured records that align with your organisational hierarchy.
- Keep the master data consistent that other kolum modules, such as CBAM and EUDR, share with PPWR.
- Stay prepared as obligations phase in between 2026 and 2040.
🟢 Why this matters. PPWR obligations are company-level: your activities determine your roles (manufacturer, importer, distributor, producer per member state), and one packaging placed on the market by a legal entity is enough to trigger that entity's obligations.
