Add New Production Facility

Adding production facilities in kolum helps you track where your goods are produced and link them accurately to articles and emissions data. Keeping your facilities organized ensures your emissions data is accurate and traceable for your EU customers. Each production facility you add represents a real-world location where your products are manufactured, and you will later use it to calculate and provide emissions at facility level.

Production facilities belong to a company, so you manage them from the company they belong to rather than from a separate page.

How to Add a New Production Facility

  1. Open the company. Go to My Organization → Companies, open the company the facility belongs to, and switch to its Associations tab.
  2. Start a new facility. In the Production Facilities block, click Add New.
  3. Enter Production Facility Details:
    • Name: Give your facility a clear, recognizable name (e.g., "Shanghai Plant 1").
    • Identifier: Your reference for the facility, used in uploads and exports.
  4. Enter Address Details. You can either:
  • Use company address by checking the box if the facility's address is the same as the company's; the address fields are then locked and follow the company's address, or
  • Enter address details manually:
    • Street Name and Number (optional)
    • PO Box (optional)
    • City (mandatory)
    • Postal Code (optional)
    • Country (mandatory, select from the dropdown)
    • UN/LOCODE (optional)
    • Latitude and Longitude (optional for precise mapping)
  1. Click "Create Production Facility". Once all required fields are complete, click Create Production Facility to save it.
  2. Check Your Facility in the List. After creation, the facility appears in the Production Facilities block of the company's Associations tab, ready to be used when you calculate or provide emissions data. Click it to open its detail page.

What's new

Production facilities are now added directly from the company they belong to, on the company's Associations tab, and can inherit the company's address.
