Respond to a follow-up request
Overview
A Follow-Up Data Request arrives after a buyer has reviewed your first response and needs something more, such as an extra certificate or a clearer plot boundary. This page covers answering one.
🟢 Why this matters. A follow-up is usually the last thing standing between your goods and EU market clearance. Answering it quickly and precisely gets the shipment moving. See the consolidated EUDR text.
Before you start
- Read what the follow-up asks for. It lists the specific documents or locations still needed.
- Have the requested item ready (a renewed document, an added plot, and so on).
Step by step
- In Data Requests, find the request marked Follow-Up Data Request with status Open.
- Select Provide Data.
- Go to the step that holds the requested item: upload the document in Compliance & Verification, or add the location in Production Details.
- Submit your response.
Tips
- If the follow-up is about an expired document, renew it in Documents first, then attach the current version.
- Provide exactly what is asked; a follow-up is narrow by design.
Troubleshooting
- I am not sure what they need. The request lists the outstanding items. If it is still unclear, ask your buyer what their assessment is missing.
ℹ️ Regulatory context. Follow-ups usually reflect the buyer needing stronger evidence to bring a risk criterion to an acceptable level (Article 10). See the consolidated EUDR text.
